First off, I want to say that I truly wanted to gouge my eyes out after spending 10+ minutes watching a Clemson highlight video.
News came out last week that Tavien Feaster was looking for a new home and more playing time. Who can blame the guy? It’s clear that Travis Etienne was the Tigers top running back and Feaster would be more than likely working primarily in mop up duty for Clemson.
As of last week, reports had surfaced that South Carolina was one of the teams to offer the Spartanburg, SC native. In terms of playing time and making an immediate impact, USC is the no brainer choice in my opinion.
I stated it immediately after the 2018 season ended in Charlotte, the Gamecocks number one priority this season was to find RB1. South Carolina hasn’t had a legit playmaker at that position since Mike Davis left Columbia in 2014 and it has truly crippled this offense.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Feaster would be the starting running back the second he stepped foot on campus. At 222 pounds, he’s a stocky back who runs behind his pads and runs with an attitude: something nobody else on the roster (besides Mon Denson) seems to have.
Will he actually make the move and don the garnet and black in 2019? Who knows. But I can say he would be arguably the biggest pickup in the Will Muschamp era at a position that the Gamecocks so desperately need to address ASAP.
