Former Clemson and USC defensive lineman Josh Belk took to YouTube to explain his football career including why he left both Clemson and South Carolina.
In the video, Belk claims that Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp told him “either you gonna lift and stuff or we’re gonna have to take your scholarship at the end of the semester.”
To be honest with you guys, I’m not 100% sure what to think of this video.
From all of the former player interviews I’ve done, I can assure you one thing: everyone’s college experience is different.
There are a lot of shady things that happen behind closed doors that a lot of coaches would HATE for the general public to get wind of.
However, you also have to look at the source. Belk’s college football career was anything other than typical.
I’m not saying the kid is lying because…well, why would he? What would he have to gain from lying in some random YouTube video almost a year after the fact?
I’m also not going to give his story the benefit of the doubt and say it’s 100% truth.
All we know is, Belk’s college career was over before it ever even got started and there’s even more to the story than what we currently know.
In all seriousness, best wishes to the kid in his next steps in life.
Put in the grind or hit the road. Everybody is REPLACEABLE!!!!!!
