Three Bold Predictions For Gamecocks vs. Tennessee

South Carolina is coming off of one of the most disappointing and frustrating games in recent history.

The Gamecocks hoped to win back-to-back top ten games, but the officials didn’t seem to want that to happen.

The SEC issued a RIDICULOUS statement where they basically blamed the coaches and fans for the bad calls and took absolutely zero accountability.

Either way, South Carolina has to travel to Knoxville to play a very mysterious Tennessee team.

Here are my three bold predictions for this game:

South Carolina wins the ref bowl

I’m calling it the ref bowl because Tennessee also got screwed over by the officials against Alabama, but those calls wouldn’t have changed the outcome.

Either way, Muschamp has never lost to Tennessee. The Volunteers are starting Jarrett Guarantano, which should help South Carolina’s defense a lot.

I expect Javon Kinlaw to have a field day, and I think the secondary will look like it did against Georgia

I think the refs will try to give it to Tennessee, but it will be a close win for South Carolina.

Ryan Hilinski throws for three touchdowns

Tennessee’s secondary is actually pretty good, but they will have a breakdown game.

Hilisnki’s birthday is today, but he’ll show up on Saturday and show out.

Rico Dowdle won’t be playing, so Tavien Feaster will take the majority of the carries.

There’s also supposed to be rain for this game, but I still think the staff will rely on Hilinski to make plays.

I also think Bryan Edwards will have over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Parker White will hit a game winning field goal of 50+ yards

White has really improved since his freshman year where he only made 56% of his field goals.

He has hit a 49 yard field goal in each of the last two games. He has yet to make a field goal from 50+ yards out, but I think this will be the game where he wins it for South Carolina.

Let’s also remember that Elliott Fry was in the same situation before he hit a 55 yarder to beat Vanderbilt in 2016.

The rain won’t make it easy, but he already hit a 49 yarder in the rain last week. This will be his best game of his career.

Conclusion

It was a little hard to come up with predictions for this game because Tennessee is such a weird team.

I can’t tell if they’re going to be good or bad.

Based on the recent series, I would have to say South Carolina wins in a close one 31-28.
