Three Bold Predictions For Gamecocks vs. Texas A&M

Sigh, these predictions are getting harder and harder to make.

It seems like whatever I expect, this team just does the complete opposite.

The good news is South Carolina will probably play well against Texas A&M since they’re underdogs.

Really though, this game will come down to how this offense can bounce back from its lackluster performance last week.

Here are my three bold predictions:

The Gamecocks will have 200 combined rushing yards

The Aggies are allowing 142.1 rushing yards per game, and South Carolina’s strength is their run game.

The biggest issue here is that South Carolina has struggled to get the run game going recently.

The play calling hasn’t been good enough to establish the run game early.

I’m hoping they make some adjustments so that they don’t force Hilinski into tough situations early on.

Even without Tavien Feaster, I think this team can put up 200 yards rushing, especially if they use Dakereon Joyner more.

South Carolina will hold Isaiah Spiller to under 100 yards

The defense for South Carolina has been really good this year for the most part.

The secondary has had some issues, but the defensive line and linebackers have been solid all year.

The problem is that the offense hasn’t given this defense a lot of time to rest. The run defense has been good all year, and I expect them to slow down Spiller.

Spiller is a freshman who has been a force for the Aggies all year.

He’s had three 100 yard games this year, but they were all against non-power five opponents.

I think the Aggies will try to get him going early, but they’ll eventually have to rely on Kellen Mond and his legs.

South Carolina will break the streak

South Carolina has broken almost every win/loss streak this season except for Vanderbilt and Florida.

South Carolina has also never beat Texas A&M since they joined the SEC in 2014.

This is also one of those games where it seems like Muschamp will win back the fan base.

Every time he pretty much loses the trust of the fan base, he comes out and wins some game he isn’t supposed to.

It happened in the Georgia game, and I could easily see it happening this weekend.

His game preparation has been bad all season except for the Georgia and Kentucky game.

Conclusion

I really hope South Carolina will surprise everyone and beat the Aggies on the road.

I think that this team will bounce back this weekend.

Although this team has been painful to watch this season, I think they’ll surprise everyone and win 21-17.
