PREVIEW: Gamecocks Host Boston University at Colonial Life Arena

South Carolina will take on the Boston University Terriers tonight in Colonial Life Arena looking to remain undefeated thus far.

This should be another easy game for Frank Martin and his squad. South Carolina has looked really good so far while Boston has struggled this year.

The Gamecocks are 3-0 this season, and their total margin of victory is 73 points.

Martin has a really good team who excels on defense while the guard play has vastly improved this season.

Sophomore AJ Lawson is averaging 16 points per game and is the clear leader of this team.

Sophomore Alonzo Frink is leading the Gamecocks in rebounding with 6.3 rebounds per game.

Junior Jair Bolden has been impressive this season. Bolden is averaging 12.3 points per game, five rebounds per game and two steals per game. He’s also shooting 63.6 percent and 54.5 percent from beyond the arc.

I expect the guard play to be the key to the Gamecocks this season.

Boston University is sitting at 2-2 with wins over Polytechnic and New Hampshire.

The Terriers are led by sophomore guard Walter Whyte. He’s been cooking up the competition averaging 18.5 points per game.

He’s also shooting 42.9 percent from the three point line.

Their interior will be led by senior Max Mahoney, who is averaging 11.8 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game.

These two will be the biggest threat to South Carolina.

South Carolina is only allowing 50 points per game so I expect this to be another low scoring game.

Frank Martin will continue this run of dominance, and South Carolina will win 64-46.

Jair Bolden will shut down Whyte and the chemistry of their team will be disrupted.

Lawson will once again put up impressive numbers.
