Former Gamecocks Running Back Duce Staley Takes Over Eagles Operations In Doug Pederson’s Absence

Doug Pederson is out from his Coronavirus positive-test.

Reporter Jeff McLane tweeted the announcement:

Staley has been chosen to lead the organization as he’s been a part of the team since 2011. He is currently the running-backs coach and also has ‘assistant’ in his title.

In an interview with SportsIllustrated, Pederson told EagleMaven:

We have to have a plan for everything as you know,I think there has to be a plan in place for any coach or any staff member that may miss a couple of days or a couple of weeks because of the virus.

So those are all things that are running through my mind. Again, we are in a different environment and we all have to do our part to protect ourselves, protect our players and our families and hopefully we minimize any setbacks.”

Staley has been passed over twice for an Offensive-Coordinator position since his debut with the organization and many believe his Assistant Coach title is given through pity.

However, if Staley can prove he can lead the Eagles team, then this can propel his career.

Staley has been overlooked for years and this is an opportunity he is glad to have.

The Spurs Up Show wishes him good luck as he tries to lead this Philly team to a successful training camp without Pederson.
