NFL Gamecocks To Watch For In Week Six

The NFL is still going on and games are being pushed around to account or COVID. There are a lot of good matchups this week after the NFL reshuffled some games.

Here are some exciting South Carolina alumni to watch for in week six:

Jadaveon Clowney

The Titans play the Texans this week, which means that Clowney will get to go up against former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Although they never went up against each other in college, Clowney will definitely be fun to watch while chasing down Watson. Clowney has been a little quiet this year, but he’s overdue for a breakout game.

Watson is shifty in the pocket, but Clowney is really good at tracking runners.

Mike Davis

I can’t say enough good things about Davis this season. If there was one matchup I would be excited about, it’s this one.

Christian McCaffery will probably be out, which means Davis will be the starter. The Panthers play the Bears, who have one of the best pass defenses in the NFL.

Teddy Bridgewater won’t have a lot of time to throw, so he’ll check it down to Davis a lot. The Bears have struggled against running backs this year, and Davis leads the league in broken tackles.

This is a dream matchup for Davis.

Stephon Gilmore

Gilmore is back from the COVID list, and he has a great matchup this week.

The Patriots play the Broncos this season, and the Broncos do not have a great passing game. Their quarterback is Jeff Driskel, who isn’t having the best year.

This doesn’t mean there isn’t a passing threat. Rookie Jerry Jeudy has played very well, and Gilmore will have to cover the former Alabama star.

While the veteran Gilmore should win this battle, Jeudy has shown that he has big play potential.

Conclusion

There are still going to be a lot of games reshuffled this year as teams continue to have COVID cases, but the NFL will still go on. If I had to give an MVP award to any current NFL Gamecock, it would easily be Mike Davis.

This will once again be a great weekend for football.
