Columbia, SC (November 27, 2020) – 12-year-old Thomas “Banks” Jones from Columbia, SC will be surprised on Friday, November 27 when he finds out that his ultimate sports dream – “to attend a U of SC football game as a VIP guest” – will be coming true on Saturday, November 28. Jones lives with cerebral palsy and is a lifelong Gamecocks fan. This Dream Experience is especially poignant after a tough week for Gamecock athletics; the college students involved are excited to rally around Jones in a spirit of altruism and togetherness.
The sports dream is the product of Dream On 3’s brand new Collegiate Dream Team program. Working side by side with Dream On 3, the gentlemen of the University of South Carolina’s Kappa Sigma fraternity involved in the program have planned, raised money, promoted awareness, and engaged the entire student body in an act of service for a local youth (Jones) in their community. This weekend’s VIP Dream Experience is the culmination of the student’s efforts.
The fraternity is Dream On 3’s inaugural college-level participant in the Collegiate Dream Team program. To date, the group has raised over $10,000 which will be used to create the weekend-long experience for Jones and his family.
