Another game on the road and Carolina was ready to put more points on the scoreboard.
The past two games, two valuable Gamecock players Laeticia Amihere and Kamilla Cardoso, were away competing with their national teams in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 Qualifying Tournament.
Carolina’s strong bench has been showcased the entire season, but especially now with the temporary loss of two players. Both Freshman Bree Hall and Saniya Rivers stood out against Georgia.
From the start, it was highly noticeable how confident each player was to have an easy win, even if Georgia is ranked. After the close game against Kentucky, the players were working aggressively as a team to guarantee that each pass, rebound, and shot was executed.
Destanni Henderson and Zia Cooke each hit a pair of 3’s in the first quarter, they were definitely players to watch at the game.
This is the second game that Carolina Women’s Basketball has scored 50+ points before the third quarter. The talent, skill, and camaraderie from the starting 5 and entire team of South Carolina is truly unbeatable and that’s why they are the best.
With a final score of 72 – 54, the Gamecocks are unstoppable again.
Although I’m from Georgia, I always love to watch the Bulldogs be humbled.
Stay tuned this Thursday to watch South Carolina Women’s Basketball be back in Colonial Life Arena against Auburn!
